Important terms with explanations
for classic cars auctions
Asking Price -
The asking price is the initial price at which a lot is offered for sale in an auction.
The reserve price is the minimum the lot will be sold for.
To participate in an auction, you must register with the auction house in advance. Some basic information and a billing address will need to be supplied for this.
Upon accepting the insurance conditions, you will receive a bidder number which entitles you to participate in the auction.
An estimate of the lot's value based on the opinions of experts is given to bidders before auctioning begins.
The auctioneer determines the bid increment at his own discretion. This is a fixed amount by which the bidding price increases. As a rule of thumb, the bidding increments increase the higher a bid is.
Each item to be auctioned is called a lot. Every lot receives a unique number called the lot number
Reserve not met
RESERVE NOT MET
If the auction for a lot has ended and the highest bid is below the reserve price, the vehicle is "under reserve". The auctioneer decides, in consultation with the seller, to dissolve the reservation if necessary.
Sold to the highest bidder
SOLD TO THE HIGHEST BIDDER

The bidder pays a premium of 11.9% (incl. 19% VAT) on the hammer price.
The minimum premium for Automobila is 19.99 € (incl. 19% VAT).
Attention: Online 15.47% (incl. 19% VAT)
